    About Us

The STEP Academy provides activities to help students acquire the skills and attitude necessary to pursue post-secondary education, leading to careers in scientific, technical, or health-related fields or the licensed professions. The goal of the program activities is to:

    • Expose students to careers requiring basic and advanced skills in mathematics and science.
    • Introduce students to role models and community leaders who may inspire their career and academic goals.
    • Engage students in creative and innovative learning experiences.
    • Support parents with workshops that enable them to take an active role in their children’s academic lives.

Students participating in Baruch College’s STEP Academy program come from many middle and high schools in the New York City region and are highly motivated to learn more about math and science.

The Science and Technology Entry Program is funded by a grant from the New York State Education Department, Office of K-16 Initiatives and Access Programs.
